About the role

Chrysalis Health is seeking compassionate, resilient, and motivated Peer Support Specialists to join our growing behavioral health team. This position offers a unique opportunity to use your own recovery experience to empower others living with mental health or substance use challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Contact individuals within 24 hours of receiving an assignment.
  • Provide ongoing peer support, encouragement, and mentorship.
  • Meet with clients in their homes or other community settings.
  • Help individuals develop self-advocacy, problem-solving, and independent living skills.
  • Share personal recovery experiences to inspire hope and resilience.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAPs).
  • Connect clients with valuable community resources and support services.
  • Care for clients by coordinating care with case managers, family members, treatment teams, and community partners.
  • Document services accurately and within required time frames.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all applicable regulations and company policies.
  • Respond professionally and compassionately during times of crisis.

Requirements

  • Have lived experience with mental health or substance use recovery.
  • Possess a high school diploma, GED, or higher level of education.
  • Have at least 1,000 hours of paid or volunteer experience related to mental health or substance use services.
  • Hold a peer support certification or be actively pursuing certification.
  • Complete AHCA-approved Targeted Case Management training within three months of employment.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain professional boundaries while building trusting relationships.
  • Possess working knowledge of community resources and behavioral health services.
  • Be comfortable using electronic health records and computer systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Previous experience working in behavioral health, case management, social services, or substance use treatment is preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to travel throughout the community to meet with clients.
  • Valid Florida driver's license (when applicable).
  • Reliable transportation and proof of insurance.
  • Safe driving history with no more than six points on your driving record.
  • Ability to pass all required background screenings.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
