Peer Support Specialist-Foster Care (Union County, NC)

Hours
Standard business hours, Monday through Friday.
Travel
Some travel within your assigned region (facility or home visits) is expected.
Responsibilities
- Engage in general outreach, engagement, and follow-up with members and their caregivers and families to support care management efforts.
- Support care managers as they advocate for foster parents and other caregivers, addressing their needs or challenges with various agencies and systems.
- Cook up services and appointments, such as wellness reminders and arranging transportation.
- Aid the care manager in assessing and addressing unmet health-related needs.
Requirements
- Requires a HS diploma or equivalent and a minimum 2 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities And Experiences
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Teams) highly preferred.
- Prior experience or practical knowledge of foster care, social services, DSS, or child welfare systems is highly preferred.
