About the role
The Peer Support Specialist role provides one-on-one support to people in the community, at their homes and/or at the location where the peer supporter works. This role will also provide group facilitation and support people in connecting to wellness/recovery opportunities in their communities. This is a community-based program, that would require up to 80% of the workday spent in patient's homes.
Responsibilities
- Works collaboratively with all members of the multidisciplinary ACT to assist our patients.
Requirements
- Completion of, or ability to complete relevant training to the position required. This may be the State of Maine Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) Certification.
- Provisional CIPSS Certification may be required within 9 months of hire if CIPSS is required.
- Valid Driver’s License and vehicle available for work covered by liability insurance as specified by agency policy required.
- Experience providing one-on-one and/or group facilitation peer support preferred.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Computer proficiency required.
