About the role

The Peer Support Specialist at ACT is part of LifeWorks NW's intensive Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program. This role involves providing recovery-oriented services to individuals seeking peer supports to enhance independence, community integration, and recovery.

Responsibilities

• Create and work on a Peer-Assisted Wellness Recovery Plan tailored to the individual's needs.
• Model recovery principles and share personal experiences to inspire self-determination and independence.
• Identify and utilize natural community supports to reduce reliance on traditional mental health systems.
• Develop and work towards specific recovery goals with clients.
• Support clients during times of crisis, including grocery shopping, meal preparation, and ensuring medication compliance.
• Assist clients in accessing necessary community resources and maintain confidentiality of client records.
• Educate and advocate for the values and principles of Peer Delivered Services and the Recovery Model.
• Complete Service Activity Logs (S/AL's) on a timely basis.

Requirements

• Self-identifies as a current or former recipient of mental health services.
• Holds a Peer Support Specialist certification from a State-approved training program.
• Holds a Traditional Health Worker (THW) Number.
• Demonstrates effective communication skills and cultural competency.
• Has basic computer skills including keyboarding and navigating websites.
• May require transporting clients and must have a valid driver's license, auto insurance, and a safe driving record.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills including keyboarding, use of mouse, ability to navigate websites and use common web browsers.
• Valid driver's license, proof of current automobile insurance coverage, and ability to meet LWNW driving requirements.

Benefits

Full benefits package including a starting salary range of $23.68-$30.33 per hour, subject to final placement within the range based on experience and qualifications.
