Peer Support Counselor

Responsibilities

• Provides community-based support services to clients and families, including mentoring, advocacy, skill development, and resource linkage.
• Collaborates with treatment team members, helps clients navigate behavioral health and community services, assists with communication and service coordination, and documents services in accordance with peer support scope of practice.
• Delivers client services throughout Fresno County within designated county limits; may be required to transport clients/client family members utilizing personal vehicle.
• Provides individual and family counseling; supports medication management, housing, education, and vocational services.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED, HiSET) required.
• Personal experience as a consumer in the child welfare, probation, or mental health systems.
• Peer Support Specialist Certification: must complete certification process within one year of employment.
• Valid California Driver’s License and eligibility to meet agency driving criteria.

Pay

Starting compensation: $20.63 – $21.63 USD per hour.

Schedule

Monday‑Friday business hours; hours are approximate and may include flexibility as needed to meet client needs.
