Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS)

About the role

I Am Boundless is hiring a Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) to support youth and families with behavioral health challenges, substance use, and system navigation. The PRSS provides strengths-based, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented support to promote engagement, self-advocacy, and successful participation in services.

Responsibilities

• Utilize lived experience with behavioral health challenges, substance use, and/or system navigation to support youth and families.
• Provide strengths-based, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented support to promote engagement, self-advocacy, and successful participation in services.
• Work in collaboration with Care Coordinators and other providers to support individualized care planning and service delivery.

Requirements

• Certified Peer Recovery Supporter (Adult or Family Peer) through the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Demonstrated lived experience with behavioral health, substance use, or caregiving within child-serving systems (e.g., mental health, child welfare, juvenile justice).
• Ability to use lived experience in a professional, recovery-oriented manner.
• Strong communication and engagement skills.

Qualifications

• Experience working with youth and families with complex behavioral health needs.
• Knowledge of OhioRISE, wraparound, and high-fidelity care coordination principles.
• Experience participating in Child and Family Team (CFT) processes.
