Peer Recovery Specialist - Recovery Court

About the role

The New River Valley Recovery Court is seeking a full-time Peer Recovery Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-clinical, person-centered, wellness-focused support to participants of the Recovery Court Program.
• Share firsthand lived experiences with recovery to inspire hope, increase engagement in treatment and in their communities.
• Support participants in articulating personal goals for wellness, recovery resiliency and self-advocacy.
• Work as a part of the Recovery Court Team to provide individual and group peer support services.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have a mental health or substance use disorder that has impacted your life for two years or more and must identify a year in recovery.
• Certification as Peer Recovery Specialist is required.

Qualifications

• Additional compensation will be considered for any new employees who speak multiple languages.

Skills

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to build trust and rapport with individuals.
• Knowledge of substance use disorders and recovery processes.

Benefits

• Starting Hourly Rate: $17.08 Hourly-Depending on Experience
