Peer Recovery Specialist - ACT

About the role

The Peer Recovery Specialist position with ACT provides non-clinical, person-centered wellness-focused support to engage consumers in treatment and promote the use of their wellness recovery plans.

Responsibilities

• Share first-hand lived experiences with recovery to inspire hope, increase engagement in treatment and in communities, and support consumers in articulating personal goals for wellness, recovery, resiliency, and self-advocacy.
• Receive Coordinated Individual Supervision with the Office of Peer Supports and Recovery Supervisor and Program Supervisor.
• Participate in Peer Support Group Supervision.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required.
• Must have a diagnosed mental health or substance use disorder that has impacted your life for two years or more and must identify at least one year in recovery.
• Certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist is required.

Qualifications

• Additional compensation may be considered for employees who speak multiple languages.

Skills

• Ability to share personal experiences of recovery.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of mental health and substance use disorders.

Starting Hourly Rate: $20.33 - Depending on Experience
