About the role
The Peer Recovery Specialist position with ACT provides non-clinical, person-centered wellness-focused support to engage consumers in treatment and promote the use of their wellness recovery plans.
Responsibilities
- Share first-hand lived experiences with recovery to inspire hope, increase engagement in treatment and in communities, and support consumers in articulating personal goals for wellness, recovery, resiliency, and self-advocacy.
- Receive Coordinated Individual Supervision with the Office of Peer Supports and Recovery Supervisor and Program Supervisor.
- Participate in Peer Support Group Supervision.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required.
- Must have a diagnosed mental health or substance use disorder that has impacted your life for two years or more and must identify at least one year in recovery.
- Certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist is required.
Qualifications
- Additional compensation may be considered for employees who speak multiple languages.
Skills
- Ability to share personal experiences of recovery.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of mental health and substance use disorders.
