About the role

The Respiratory Care Practitioner at MultiCare Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital & Health Network provides skilled respiratory care to children and adolescents with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies and abnormalities. This position requires advanced practitioner skills to intervene in complex patient care situations and operates independently under limited supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver skilled respiratory care modalities and interventions to designated patient populations
  • Perform advanced practitioner skills in ventilator management, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and clinical evaluation of care
  • Establish therapy and treatment objectives based on the age and needs of the patient
  • Review care based on the age and needs of the patient
  • Operate independently, under limited supervision
  • Interact with patient care staff and management
  • Communicate with external contacts such as patients, families, physicians, outside health care providers, and other organizations

Requirements

  • Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Therapy Training program
  • Registered (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care
  • Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) with the State of Washington
  • Registry eligibility notice to sit for RRT exam from NBRC required
  • Advanced cardiac life support credential required within 90 days of hire depending on age of the population served: ACLS, NRP, PALS
  • Health Care Provider level CPR certification
  • Minimum one (1) year of acute care experience in the field of respiratory therapy and critical care as CRT preferred

Qualifications

Consideration may be given to internal candidates not meeting the minimum education qualifications.

Specialized training and experience in performing independent, professional respiratory care, ventilator management, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and clinical evaluation of care.
