Pediatrics - Neuro Oncology

About the role

We are seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Pediatric Neuro-oncologist to join our Pediatric Hematology/Oncology team based in Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center to function as a regional pediatric neuro-oncologist with our partners in Roseville, CA and Santa Clara, CA. The physician will join an established team with supportive staff and pediatric hematology/oncology colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Providing comprehensive care including chemotherapy and targeted therapies for patients with CNS tumors and predisposing conditions such as neurofibromatosis Type 1 and 2
• Attending pediatric neuro-oncology tumor board
• Interpreting molecular profiling and genetic mutation data to guide individualized therapy
• Monitoring the progress and overseeing the care of brain tumor patients regionally
• Providing direct care in Oakland and virtual care in the two partnering sites

Qualifications

• Board certified or board eligible by an American Medical Specialty Board
• Possess excellent interpersonal communication and teaching skills
• Comfortable enrolling patients on clinical trials
• Collaborate well with a multi-disciplinary team including pediatric neuro-surgery, pediatric hematology/oncology, pathology, radiology, radiation oncology, and pediatric subspecialty colleagues
