Pediatrician

NorthPoint Health and Wellness Center is seeking an experienced Pediatrician to join our team and provide comprehensive ambulatory pediatric and adolescent healthcare in a community clinic setting. Our practice is a diverse, urban, community health center located in North Minneapolis whose mission is “Partnering to create a healthier community.” Candidates who serve in a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) will work in a site with a score of 18, making them eligible for scholarship and loan repayment programs such as the NHSC Loan Repayment Program.

Current Hennepin County employees who refer a candidate hired into this position may be eligible for a $500 referral bonus.

About the role

This is a part-time, benefit-earning position internally classified as a Physician, Associate.

Responsibilities

• Obtain health history, perform physical examinations, and conduct preventive screenings to provide the full spectrum of primary care services for youth.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic illness and disease.
• Provide education and preventive services for infants, children, and adolescents.
• Make appropriate referrals to other health professionals and community agencies.
• Participate in NorthPoint's quality management program.
• Utilize the electronic health records system, Epic.
• Participate in the design, implementation, and evaluation of care programs based on the needs of our population.
• Serve as a resource for other staff and areas of the clinic.
• Guide and direct allied and ancillary personnel.
• Assist with our Reach Out and Read programs.
• Partner with patients and families to optimize their health and wellness.
• Occasional coverage for evening and Saturday clinic hours is required.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of medicine with a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree.
• Completion of an approved internship and an approved formal Pediatrics or Medicine-Pediatrics residency by applicant’s start date.
• A valid license to practice medicine issued by the State of Minnesota.
• Board certification or board eligibility in Pediatrics.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of professional medical techniques, procedures, and treatments in pediatrics; assessment techniques; instructional techniques; diagnostic tests and their interpretation; record and report preparation and maintenance.
• Ability to provide professional medical services; perform diagnostic techniques; interpret diagnostic test results; solicit patient medical information; collaborate with appropriate personnel in planning patient care; participate in research activities; instruct ancillary and student personnel; and review records and reports.
• Skill in providing professional medical services and performing research activities.
• Fluency in Spanish and/or Hmong, in addition to English, is encouraged. Bilingual candidates who pass a language assessment may qualify for additional bilingual pay and duties.

Schedule

• 20-40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, typically between 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
• New Employee Orientation (NEO) for all new benefit-earning employees is in-person in downtown Minneapolis.

Location

This position will primarily be located at the NorthPoint Health and Wellness Center at 2220 Plymouth Avenue North Minneapolis, MN 55411, and various NorthPoint satellite locations.
