Responsibilities
- Provision of competent direct patient care based on established standards.
- Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level.
- Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services.
- Assumes an expanded role which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.
- Provides expert nursing care in the Acute Care Clinic, including management of oncology and hematology patients requiring blood product administration, chemotherapy, evaluation and treatment of fever and neutropenia, and management of pain crisis.
- Performs comprehensive telephone triage and care management.
- Patient and family education.
- Participation in quality improvement, workflow optimization, and research initiatives.
- Collaborates with the Pediatric Infusion Center.
Requirements
- Previous pediatric experience, including chemotherapy administration, strongly preferred.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of New York.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
- Completion of a BSN program within the last five years.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Skills
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of pediatric care and oncology/hematology treatments.

Pay
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
