Performs routine (standard CPAP and BPAP titrations) pediatric sleep studies. This is a 36 hour/week overnight position in the Waltham, MA location.

Requirements

  • CPR and BLS certification required
  • RPSGT exam eligible preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associates Degree preferred

Level I-Pediatric Sleep Technologist

  • 1 year of experience in a sleep lab, pediatric Sleep Laboratory setting preferred OR completion of a certified PSG training program with some clinical experience

Pay

$58,676 - $105,600 annually

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients and equipment for procedures
  • Obtains medical history from patients/families to identify and meet patient-specific needs
  • Performs polysomnograms according to hospital and laboratory standards and protocols; routine and specialized PSG, MSLT, MWT, and other specialized procedures to meet the procedure request/goals of the study
  • Performs routine and complex equipment care and maintenance, troubleshoots technical problems with equipment, and coordinates repairs as needed with appropriate personnel
  • Keeps equipment clean and in proper working order

Level II Pediatric Sleep Technologist

  • Minimum 2 years' experience and confirmed proficiency with all equipment, duties, and competencies required of a Pediatric Sleep Technologist

Pay

$62,212 - $111,966 annually

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients and equipment for procedures
  • Reviews procedure request provided by ordering physician and complies with all standard lab protocols
  • Educates patients and families on PAP need and function and properly fits and applies PAP masks in pediatric population night of titration
  • Performs inpatient and outpatient polysomnograms according to hospital and laboratory standards and protocols; routine and specialized PSG, PAP, O2, Trach, MSLT, MWT, and other specialized procedures to meet the procedure request/goals of the study
  • Provides training to students, new hires, and less senior technical staff
  • Performs routine and complex equipment care and maintenance, troubleshoots technical problems with equipment, and coordinates repairs as needed with appropriate personnel

Level III Pediatric Sleep Technologist

  • RPSGT Registration
  • Minimum 5 years' experience and confirmed proficiency with all equipment, duties, and competencies required of Pediatric Sleep Technologists

Pay

$65,936 - $118,684 annually

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients and equipment for procedures
  • Reviews procedure request provided by ordering physician and complies with all standard lab protocols
  • Educates patients and families on PAP need and function and properly fits and applies PAP masks in pediatric population night of titration
  • Performs inpatient and outpatient polysomnograms according to hospital and laboratory standards and protocols; routine and specialized PSG, PAP, O2, Trach, MSLT, MWT, and other specialized procedures as requested and assigned
  • Provides training to students, new hires, and less senior technical staff, and provides feedback on trainee progress to management
  • Signs off on competencies
  • Evaluates raw study, staging sleep, identifying artifacts, and all relevant events; generates reports allowing reading physician to more easily make a diagnosis
  • Participates in lab ISR activities and scoring meetings; reviews and learns in order to maintain accreditation for the lab
  • Coordinates/leads nightly safety huddle, escalates concerns through appropriate chain of command, signs in and out with nursing staff, and provides morning summary to leadership
  • Performs routine and complex equipment care and maintenance, troubleshoots technical problems with equipment, and coordinates repairs as needed with appropriate personnel
