About the Role
Provides patient care services and maintains responsibility for medical services provided by the health care team. Examines, diagnoses, and prescribes treatment for patients. Ensures required health services are available to patients. Supervises the care given by Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and other team members including Medical Assistants.
Reports to: Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and Medical Director (Technical/Supervision).
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved medical school with an M.D. or D.O. Degree.
- Successful completion of an approved internship and residency.
- Board eligible or Board Certified.
- Current California Physician and Surgeon's License.
- Some positions may require eligibility for hospital privileges in participating hospitals.
- Thorough working knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, and contemporary general office practices and procedures.
- Math skills sufficient to prepare routine spreadsheets, calculate/balance invoices/expense reports, and similar tasks.
- Basic leadership skills.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.), electronic health record systems, and database systems.
- Typing/data entry skills sufficient to meet production requirements.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and others.
- Very effective oral and written communications skills, including public speaking experience.
- Effective work organization skills.
- Ability to work effectively as a team player.
- Ability to be flexible and work in a changing environment.
- Sensitivity to the different cultures represented among members and staff.
