Responsibilities
- Conduct well-child visits, perform physical exams, and administer required immunizations and screenings.
- Assess symptoms, order and interpret diagnostic lab tests, prescribe medications, and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Track physical, emotional, and cognitive milestones to ensure healthy growth.
- Educate parents and caregivers on child nutrition, sleep, safety, hygiene, and behavior management.
- Maintain detailed medical histories and refer patients to pediatric specialists if advanced care is required.
Requirements
- A Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) followed by a 3-year pediatric residency program.
- Must possess an active state medical license and pass the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) or COMLEX.
- Board certification by the American Board of Pediatrics is highly preferred or required by many employers.
