Primary Responsibilities
- Strengthen the resident’s expertise in managing pediatric vision problems and common ocular disease.
- Enhance the resident’s examination skills in pediatric patients.
- Develop the resident’s appreciation for scholarly activity.
- Train additional providers to meet population needs in a comprehensive medical setting.
Curriculum
- Curriculum utilizes mission, goals, and objectives of the residency.
- Resident practices in a clinical setting 4.5 days weekly.
- Attends pediatric eye lectures and case conference series.
- Performs scholarly activities, including preparing posters, case reports, and attending Residency Day events.
Qualifications
- Graduated from an ACOE-accredited school or college of optometry with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
- Passed all parts of NBEO, including TMOD.
- Held a Wisconsin optometry license within 1 year of hire.
- Occasional physical requirements include lifting moderate weight materials, standing, or walking continuously.
