About the role
The Department of Pediatrics of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is recruiting a clinician-investigator and pediatric oncologist with research and clinical expertise in pediatric solid tumors. The candidate will lead efforts in translating laboratory-based research into early phase clinical trials, and clinical care as part of the Rare Tumors Program and Pediatric Translational Medicine Service.
Responsibilities
- Primary responsibility of Program/Service patients, including regular outpatient pediatric oncology clinic
- Periodic coverage of the inpatient pediatric oncology service, notably including all oncology diagnoses
- Lumbar puncture and/or bone marrow procedures, only if required for Program/Service patient
- Oversight of clinical and research tumor profiling efforts
- Oversight of departmental biobanking and preclinical modeling efforts
- Collaboration with basic science laboratories to inform early phase clinical research
- Development of investigator initiated targeted and immune-therapy based clinical trials for pediatric solid tumors
- Academic activities including: Translational research and publications, securing of independent grant funding, co-leading departmental molecular tumor boards
- Education of fellows, residents and staff
Requirements
- Full unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of New York (or eligibility for licensure in New York and New Jersey)
- Board-certified in Pediatrics and/or Board-eligible in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology
- Eligible for appointment ranging from Assistant to Full Professor
Qualifications
- Ability to anticipate cancer behavior and approach cancer heterogeneity in innovative ways
- Experience in translational research
- Experience in design and implementation of clinical trials

$192,000 - $376,750 annually
