About the Role
Under nursing administration and in clinical collaboration with a physician, this role provides comprehensive primary care in neonatal or infant health care. Responsibilities include health education, preventive medicine, communicable disease management, and performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The incumbent will deliver primary medical care, including examinations, assessments, and necessary medical interventions. Supervision of staff and instructional guidance to nursing and other healthcare professionals may also be required.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care for neonates and infants, including health education and preventive medicine.
- Manage communicable diseases and perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Conduct necessary medical examinations, assessments, and interventions.
- Supervise and provide instructional guidance to nursing and other healthcare professionals in the area of expertise.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Master of Nursing Program.
- Possession of a valid license and current registration as a Registered Professional Nurse, issued by the New York State Education Department.
- Two years of professional nursing experience.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner with prescription writing privileges, issued by the New York State Education Department (required at time of appointment and must be maintained throughout employment).
