What You Will Do
- Assess physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs of the patient and family.
- Provide intermittent skilled nursing services to the patient under the patient’s physicians’ directions.
- Monitor and evaluate pain and symptoms and provide information and assistance to the patient and family to manage those problems.
- Serves as liaison to the patient’s physician(s) when needed; provide information to the physician based on knowledge relating to the patient’s needs.
- Provide emotional support to the patient and family.
- Refer and follow up patients and/or family members to other services when appropriate.
- Provide instruction (health teaching) to the patient and family as related to home care.
- Maintain and promptly complete all necessary plan and reports related to home care.
- Participate in care conferences and bereavement meetings.
- Participate in public relations activities when necessary.
- Participate in audit review, quality assurance activities and other meetings as assigned.
- Plan and supervise activities of HHA as related to patient care.
Success Capabilities
- Licensed RN or LPN in the State of Ohio
- BS or equivalent experience
- 3-5 Years of experience in Pediatrics, or Hospice with the desire to transfer into Pediatrics
- Experience preferred in pain and symptom management, oncology, public health, mental health
- Experience in pediatrics and knowledge regarding normal growth and development, pediatric assessment skills, and pharmacology
Requirements
- Must work a minimum of 40 hours, four days/week
- May at times work 4 days, 10-hour shifts based on department needs and supervisor approval
- One evening per week for call coverage and one weekend worked per month

Conditions Of Employment
- All attempts will be made to place PED Nurse in the service areas closer to living residence
- Compliance to Annual Flu Shot Policy or ability to provide exemption documentation
- Provide an active auto insurance policy as a licensed driver in the State of Ohio with the proper level of coverage as directed
- Provide an active driver’s license
- Ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- High level of integrity, ethics and professionalism
