About the role
The Virginia Commonwealth University Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Physician to join the Division of Hematology and Oncology at Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU. This role will provide support to the division in its continuity of care for new and existing patients.
Responsibilities
- Teaching: Faculty member will have teaching responsibilities in the area of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology. Faculty member will provide teaching and mentorship to medical students, residents, and Fellows when applicable.
- Research: Faculty member will have working knowledge in basic research methods and be able to participate in clinical, translational, and outcomes research that division may play an active role in pursuing.
- Service: Faculty member will serve on departmental, hospital, or School of Medicine level committees when appropriate, as well as professional activities through journal review, conference presentations, etc.
- Clinical: Faculty Member will serve as a pediatric hematology/oncology physician. They will see pediatric hematology, oncology and transplant patients as necessary, with a focus on disorders of benign hematology for the department.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, MD or DO degree, eligible for medical license in Commonwealth of Virginia, demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in an academic medical center, Clinical interest in coagulation and benign hematology.
