Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician
About the Role
HCA Florida Brandon Children’s Hospital is seeking Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) physicians to join our team at Florida Brandon Regional Hospital. This role offers 12-hour shifts (7am–7pm, 7pm–7am) in a dedicated 16-bed pediatric emergency department, including 13 regular rooms, 1 resuscitation room, 1 neonatal resuscitation room, and 1 behavioral health room. A trauma bay is also accessible if needed. The department currently sees 30–40 patients per day and operates with a highly experienced pediatric nursing staff. While there are no APPs on staff, ER residents are present, and the adjacent adult ER is available for emergent support.
Responsibilities
- Provide emergency medical care to pediatric patients in a dedicated 16-bed unit.
- Collaborate with a full complement of pediatric subspecialists and a skilled nursing team.
- Work alongside ER residents in a teaching environment.
Requirements
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Medicine.
- Completion of a Fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.

Facility Information
HCA Florida Brandon Regional Hospital is a 422-bed acute care facility located 20 minutes east of downtown Tampa. The hospital features a new 16-bed pediatric emergency department (opened in 2018) with 24-hour physician coverage and 12 hours of APP coverage per day. Additional pediatric services include 15 inpatient beds, an 8-bed PICU, and a Level III NICU.
