About the role

Emergency Medicine Specialists of Orange County (EMSOC) is seeking a board certified/eligible pediatric emergency medicine physician to join their Pediatric Emergency Medicine program at Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC).

Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency care to pediatric patients at CHOC.
  • Work closely with in-house pediatric critical care specialists, mental health inpatient center staff, and allied health professionals.
  • Support residents of the combined CHOC Children’s Hospital / UCI pediatric residency program, UCI Emergency Medicine residency program, and other nearby institutions' programs.
  • Instruct and supervise fellows in the upcoming Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship program.
  • Teach and mentor medical students and residents.

Requirements

  • Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine.
  • Experience in pediatric emergency medicine is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Qualifications

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current license to practice medicine in California.
  • Passing scores on the USMLE or COMLEX exams.

Skills

  • Strong clinical skills in pediatric emergency medicine.
  • Effective teamwork and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to manage high patient volumes and complex cases.
