About the role

The positions in Pediatric Emergency Medicine offer unique opportunities to advance your career. We are a 22-bed ED with approximately 36,000-40,000 visits annually. Our current PEM staff consists of twelve physicians, including one nocturnist and one weekender. In addition, we have advanced practice providers (APP) increasing coverage. The ED is covered with 40 physician hours per day and between 16 to 32 APP hours depending on the time of year.

Responsibilities

• Manage a 22-bed Emergency Department with approximately 36,000-40,000 visits annually
• Cover the ED with 40 physician hours per day and between 16 to 32 APP hours depending on the time of year
• Work with a team of 12 PEM physicians, including one nocturnist and one weekender
• Increase coverage with advanced practice providers (APP)
• Participate in a fully accredited Pediatric residency program and an accredited PEM fellowship
• Host residents from three emergency medicine residency programs that rotate through our emergency department
• Access to a state-of-the-art, academic, free-standing children's hospital with up to 137 inpatient beds (over 250 inpatient beds in phase 2)
• Located in Orlando's Lake Nona Medical City, providing access to outdoor activities, family entertainment, and nightlife

Requirements

• Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school
• Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Emergency Medicine
• Valid state medical license & DEA

• Experience in Pediatric Emergency Medicine
• Strong clinical skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
