About the role

The Pediatric Cardiac ICU at AdventHealth is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our highly skilled and collaborative team. This position provides comprehensive clinical assessments, develops patient-focused goals, and invests in the development of self and others.

Responsibilities

• Documents comprehensive clinical assessments, including diagnostic testing and functional status.
• Uses unique knowledge regarding extracorporeal circulation to plan, deliver, and evaluate individualized care for neonatal and pediatric patients.
• Invests time and energy in developing self and others through teaching, coaching, and role modeling.
• Develops and documents patient-focused short and long-term goals that are functional and measurable.
• Identifies the need for and refers patients and families to other services as needed.

• Ability to make decisions ethically and act as a patient advocate.
• Understanding of ECMO equipment, products, and systems.
• Adept at initiating and administering complex therapeutic interventions.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing [Required]
• Master's degree in Nursing [Preferred]
• 2+ years of experience as an RN, RRT, ECMO specialist or coordinator, Nurse Practitioner, or physician assistant in an acute-care setting within the last five years [Required]
• Current valid State of Florida or multi-state license as a Registered Nurse or Registered Respiratory Therapist [Required]
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification [Required]
• 1+ years of critical care or palliative care experience for patients with life-limiting or life-threatening illness [Preferred]
• 1+ years of teaching/preceptor experience [Preferred]
• 1+ years of ventricular assist device experience [Preferred]
