About the role

Main Street Children's Dentistry and Orthodontics of Winter Park is looking for a Pediatric Dental Assistant in Winter Park, FL to assist our clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment. As a Dental Assistant you are an integral part of the care team, providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment. Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program or six months on-the-job experience (with supporting documentation)
• X-Ray certification
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Dental Assistant are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
