Responsibilities
- Aiding the dentist during various treatment procedures
- Taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays)
- Collecting patient medical histories and measuring blood pressure and pulse
- Implementing and maintaining infection control protocols, sterilizing instruments and equipment
- Supporting patients through their dental experiences, from pre-treatment to recovery
- Providing oral care instructions and teaching proper hygiene techniques
- Creating impressions of patients' teeth for study casts
- Assisting in providing care across all dental specialties, including orthodontics and pediatric dentistry
- Cleaning and sanitizing dental instruments and treatment rooms
- Preparing dental materials and equipment for scheduled treatments
- Completing dental charting
Requirements
- Dental assisting experience: 1 year
- X-Ray Certification
