About the role
The Pediatric CT Technologist PRN independently performs routine and complex CT exams in a pediatric radiology setting, applying established protocols while exercising sound clinical judgment to adapt techniques based on patient condition and diagnostic needs.
Responsibilities
- Perform a full range of CT exams, adjusting protocols for patient safety and image quality.
- Prepare patients, correlate clinical history, and administer contrast safely.
- Recognize imaging artifacts and implement corrective measures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team.
- Transfer images, complete documentation, and prepare studies for physician review.
- Conduct quality control, equipment maintenance, and inventory tasks.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development.
- Additional duties as assigned, focusing on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in pediatric radiology.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited radiology or nuclear medicine program, or equivalent military education.
- At least 1 year of CT experience.
- Current ARRT(RT)(CT) certification and BLS certification.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, CT principles, and radiologic terminology.
- Effective communication, multitasking, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work as part of a diverse team, maintain accurate records, and demonstrate dependability.
