Pediatric Clinical Immunologist
About the Role
The Division of Pediatric Hematology Oncology at the University of Utah’s Spencer F. Eccles School of Medicine seeks a board‑certified/eligible Pediatric Immunologist to join the Pediatric Immunology and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant/Cellular Therapy Program. The faculty member will provide clinical consultation and ongoing care for a growing immunology program, serve as the Immunology liaison to the Primary Immune Deficiency Treatment Consortium (PIDTC), and manage Utah’s newborn screening program for severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID). Clinical duties are performed at Primary Children’s Hospital’s main campus and its companion campus in Lehi, Utah, with opportunities to lead early‑phase and investigator‑initiated clinical trials and collaborate with established immunology and cell‑therapy programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical consultation and longitudinal care for pediatric patients with immunologic disorders.
- Serve as the Immunology liaison to the Primary Immune Deficiency Treatment Consortium (PIDTC).
- Oversee the Utah and surrounding‑state newborn screening programs for severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID).
- Participate in clinical and/or basic research on inborn errors of immunity, including novel immune and cellular therapies, gene therapy, rare immunodeficiencies, and reduced‑toxicity stem cell transplants.
- Implement early‑phase and investigator‑initiated clinical trials.
- Collaborate with the Immunity, Inflammation and Infectious Diseases Initiative and other basic‑science investigators across the university.
- Contribute to academic activities such as education, administration, and advocacy.
- Engage with multidisciplinary teams in pediatric hematology/oncology, transplantation, cellular therapy, radiation oncology, and related specialties.
Requirements
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatrics.
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Allergy/Immunology.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high‑quality pediatric clinical immunology care.
- Strong interest or experience in translational or basic research related to immunology, stem cell transplantation, or gene therapy.
- Willingness to participate in collaborative, interdisciplinary academic environments.
