About the Role

Chamberlain College of Nursing seeks a qualified Pediatric Clinical Faculty (part-time) for our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Teaching occurs onsite in a clinical setting with one of our clinical partners. The Pediatric Nursing course focuses on family-centered care of children, exploring normal childcare and health alterations from infancy through adolescence. Students participate as members of the multidisciplinary health team to provide health promotion, illness prevention, health restoration, maintenance, and rehabilitative care to children and families.

Responsibilities

• Implement the College’s philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service.
• Assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching assignments.
• Plan clinical experiences and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering care.
• Evaluate and document student performance based on course objectives, providing feedback and remediation as needed.
• Maintain current knowledge of agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations.
• Develop and post written clinical assignments aligned with students’ knowledge, skill competency, and learning needs.
• Grade assignments, quizzes, tests, lab work, and clinical paperwork in a timely manner.
• May teach didactic course content under the supervision of a course coordinator.
• Communicate student and agency issues to the course coordinator and dean or assistant dean.

Requirements

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
• An unencumbered professional nursing license in the state of Oklahoma.
• At least two years of professional experience within the last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse.
• Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not required.
• Illinois RN License required to teach all courses (assignments prioritized for professors currently licensed in Illinois).

Pay

The expected compensation rate for this position is between $1,120 and $7,245 per assignment, depending on the credit hour assigned to the course. Actual pay may vary based on factors such as course type, experience, geographic location, licensure, market conditions, and departmental budgets.

Schedule

Most commonly 12-hour rotations (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) for three to four consecutive days.
