Pediatric Clinical Faculty (Part Time): Honolulu, Hawaii
About the Role
Chamberlain College of Nursing seeks qualified Pediatric Clinical Faculty (part-time) for our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. This onsite role involves teaching in a clinical setting with one of our clinical partners. The Pediatric Nursing course focuses on family-centered care of children, covering normal childcare and health alterations from infancy through adolescence. Students engage as part of a multidisciplinary health team to provide health promotion, illness prevention, restoration, maintenance, and rehabilitative care to children and families.
Responsibilities
- Implement the College’s philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service.
- Assume responsibility for autonomous aspects of teaching assignments.
- Plan clinical experiences and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering care.
- Evaluate and document student performance based on course objectives, offering feedback and remediation as needed.
- Maintain current knowledge of agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations.
- Develop and post clinical assignments tailored to students’ knowledge, skills, and learning needs.
- Grade assignments, quizzes, tests, and clinical paperwork in a timely manner.
- May teach didactic course content under the supervision of a course coordinator.
- Communicate student and agency issues to the course coordinator and dean or assistant dean.
Requirements
- A master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
- An unencumbered professional nursing license in the state of Hawaii.
- At least two years of professional experience within the last five years in pediatric nursing as a registered nurse.
- Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not required.
- Illinois RN License required to teach all courses (priority given to candidates currently licensed in Illinois).

Pay
The expected compensation rate for this position ranges from $1,120 to $7,245 per assignment, depending on the credit hour assigned to the course. Actual pay may vary based on factors such as course type, experience, geographic location, licensure, market conditions, and departmental budgets.
Schedule
Most commonly involves 12-hour rotations (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) for three to four consecutive days.
