Pediatric Cardiology Physician
About the role
The Pediatric Cardiology Physician will diagnose and manage congenital and acquired heart diseases in patients from neonatal period through young adulthood. They will perform and interpret echocardiograms, EKGs, stress tests, Holter monitors, and fetal echocardiograms, fetal imaging, perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations as appropriate, provide inpatient consultations across NICU, PICU, medical/surgical units, and Emergency Department, manage outpatient cardiology clinic for chronic cardiac conditions, coordinate care with pediatric cardiac surgeons and subspecialists, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and counsel families about diagnoses, treatment options, and long-term management.
Responsibilities

- Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations as appropriate
- Provide inpatient consultations across NICU, PICU, medical/surgical units, and Emergency Department
- Manage outpatient cardiology clinic for chronic cardiac conditions
- Counsel families about diagnoses, treatment options, and long-term management
- Coordinate care with pediatric cardiac surgeons and subspecialists
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Successful completion of an appropriate ACGME or AOA accredited residency and/or fellowship
- Board certification or eligibility from the appropriate specialty or subspecialty board
- Must qualify for Saint Peter's University Hospital Liability insurance
- MD or DO licensed or eligible for licensure in New Jersey
- CDS and DEA licensed or eligible for licensure
- Preferred: BLS, ACLS, PALS certification; advanced echocardiography experience; Interest in fetal cardiology, interventional procedures, or electrophysiology
Qualifications

Pay
Full-time clinical base compensation at Saint Peter’s Healthcare System ranges from 175,000 - 750,000 USD, which is impacted by various factors, including but not limited to physician specialty, level of experience, quality of care, academic accomplishments, patient experience and productivity.
Schedule
Flexible on-call schedule and after-hours call center support. Balance of inpatient consultations and outpatient clinic. Opportunity for subspecialty focus (fetal cardiology, interventional, imaging, or electrophysiology).
