Pediatric Cardiac Electrophysiologist - Full Time - Hartford, CT

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive pediatric electrophysiology and general cardiology consultations in inpatient, outpatient, and outreach settings.
  • Includes, but not limited to: Perform & interpret Cardiac electrophysiology studies, Catheter ablations, Device Implantation and management (Pacemakers, ICDs, Loop Recorders), ECGs, Holter/ event monitors, and exercise stress testing.
  • Diagnose and manage pediatric/adult arrhythmias, syncope, inherited arrhythmia syndromes, and rhythm disorders in congenital heart disease patients.
  • Collaborate with other adult partner institutions for congenital interventional cardiology (example: with Hartford Hospital).
  • Participate in quality assurance, risk management, and patient satisfaction programs pertaining to Connecticut Children’s.
  • Participate in fetal cardiology, transition/adult congenital heart disease, and multidisciplinary congenital heart clinics as appropriate.
  • Ongoing participation in interventional cardiology QI initiatives, IMPACT registry.
  • Conducts training or assists in the training of Fellows, Interns, and Resident Physicians.
  • Maintain timely and complete chart notes, reports, and communication with primary care/referring physicians and other relevant subspecialty physicians.
  • Also, maintain open and timely communication with patients, families, and guardians.
  • Comply with all billing, coding, documentation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains varied hours on a rotated schedule with other physicians to ensure that there is always a physician on-call during non-business hours.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO Degree, residency, and completion of accredited Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship and Pediatric Cardiac Electrophysiologist Fellowship.
  • Licensed and registered, and in good standing under the laws of the State of Connecticut BC/BE Pediatric Cardiologist.
  • DEA with Controlled Substance required and must be maintained thereafter.
  • Education and/or Experience Preferred: 2 years Cardiac Electrophysiologist Experience with Adult Congenital Heart Disease.
