Pediatric APP

The Pediatric Advanced Practice Provider (APP) position at WellStreet is a dynamic opportunity to join a healthcare company dedicated to setting a new standard for patient service excellence in urgent care.

About the role

This role is a critical part of the pediatric care team, focusing on the needs of patients ages 0-26. The APP will collaborate with center physicians to deliver high-quality, age-appropriate medical care, ensuring that the patient and family experience is exceptional.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, evaluates, and implements high-quality medical care with appropriate resource management, primarily for the pediatric and adolescent populations.
  • Adheres to the service and courtesy standard of WellStreet Urgent Care, prioritizing patient satisfaction.
  • Performs procedures within scope, including suturing, incision and drainage of abscesses, splinting, and foreign body removal, with attention to age-appropriate technique and comfort measures.
  • Provides patient care within the respective clinical area, complying with Professional Staff Bylaws, rules and regulations, and WellStreet Urgent Care policies and procedures.
  • Provides and/or serves as a resource for patient/family and staff education.
  • Completes necessary documentation and ensures communication to facilitate patient care and appropriate reimbursement.
  • Participates in meetings/activities as required to support operations of the urgent care center.
  • Participates in activities that enhance professional development, maintaining certifications in BLS, PALS, or NALS, and any additional specialty training/certifications as required.
  • Performs other responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

  • Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (P-NP) or Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) with 5+ years of pediatric clinical experience required.
  • Active medical license in state of practice or ability to obtain.
  • CURRENT DEA registration.
  • Experience with procedures including suturing and drainage of abscesses.
  • Experience with reading diagnostic studies including X-rays and EKGs.
  • BLS and PALS certification required.
  • Mets eligibility requirements for credentialing set forth by WellStreet Urgent Care.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other team members.
