The Pediatric Advanced Practice Provider (APP) position at WellStreet is a dynamic opportunity to join a healthcare company dedicated to setting a new standard for patient service excellence in urgent care.
About the role
This role is a critical part of the pediatric care team, focusing on the needs of patients ages 0-26. The APP will collaborate with center physicians to deliver high-quality, age-appropriate medical care, ensuring that the patient and family experience is exceptional.
Responsibilities
- Plans, evaluates, and implements high-quality medical care with appropriate resource management, primarily for the pediatric and adolescent populations.
- Adheres to the service and courtesy standard of WellStreet Urgent Care, prioritizing patient satisfaction.
- Performs procedures within scope, including suturing, incision and drainage of abscesses, splinting, and foreign body removal, with attention to age-appropriate technique and comfort measures.
- Provides patient care within the respective clinical area, complying with Professional Staff Bylaws, rules and regulations, and WellStreet Urgent Care policies and procedures.
- Provides and/or serves as a resource for patient/family and staff education.
- Completes necessary documentation and ensures communication to facilitate patient care and appropriate reimbursement.
- Participates in meetings/activities as required to support operations of the urgent care center.
- Participates in activities that enhance professional development, maintaining certifications in BLS, PALS, or NALS, and any additional specialty training/certifications as required.
- Performs other responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
- Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (P-NP) or Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) with 5+ years of pediatric clinical experience required.
- Active medical license in state of practice or ability to obtain.
- CURRENT DEA registration.
- Experience with procedures including suturing and drainage of abscesses.
- Experience with reading diagnostic studies including X-rays and EKGs.
- BLS and PALS certification required.
- Mets eligibility requirements for credentialing set forth by WellStreet Urgent Care.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other team members.
