This position practices in accordance with the philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards of the organization and functions within the guidelines of the Transport program protocols. Additionally, this role provides family-centered care, including psychosocial support, education, and transfer planning in conjunction with referral staff. In addition, this position maintains effective communication with referral staff and families. Additionally, this role participates in educating staff from referring facilities through informal teaching and planned educational classes and/or conferences. This position actively participates in outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships with all. Performs hemodynamic procedures such as arterial cannulation, assembly, calibration, maintenance, CVP/pulmonary artery catheter insertion, calibration, maintenance, cardiac output, and hemodynamic/cardiopulmonary profiles. Ensures transport supplies and equipment are restocked and functional, documents and posts/charges for procedures accurately, assists with clinical instruction, practices standard precautions, enforces safety regulations, and provides a timely response time for all transports as per quality metrics.Transports neonatal patients to nursery or neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) safely and efficiently.Completes appropriate transport training regimen and supervised orientation transports as directed by the Departments of EMS Ground and Flight Medicine and/or Respiratory Care.Utilizes Medivac-Aircraft/Vehicular Dynamics effectively during transport. Initiates process improvement ideas proactively and assists with clinical instruction and precepting.
