PD Supervisor

About the role

Under the general direction of the Department Chair and Administrative Director, supervises, plans, coordinates, delegates responsibility and participates in ensuring the smooth and efficient daily operation of the Hematology Department. Performs additional tasks as requested by the Chair or designee. Creates a positive work environment that encourages team effort and cooperation among staff to complete work assignments. Must be data driven with excellent understanding of the financial needs of the Department.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, plans, coordinates, and delegates responsibility for the daily operation of the Hematology Department
• Performs additional tasks as requested by the Chair or designee
• Creates a positive work environment that encourages team effort and cooperation among staff
• Assures appropriate reporting of activities of the Department to the Administrative Director
• Assists the Pathologists in the educational process of Medical Students and Technologists
• Must work weekends and holidays as a General Supervisor as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or Medical Technology degree
• ASCP or NCA certification preferred
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Medical Technologist
• Must meet the requirements for qualification of Laboratory Supervisor in the State of New Jersey and the CAP accreditation guidelines

Skills

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Computer and organizational skills required
• Specialized knowledge in Hematology/Coagulation with ability to work in high volume and labor intensive Department

Pay

$49.95 - $57.70 per hour
