Job Overview

Performs basic/advanced therapeutic procedures as outlined under the scope of respiratory patient care service within the section of the policy procedure manual. Transcribes and implements physician orders. Uses basic oxygen advanced assessment skills and patient information to maintain awareness of patient care needs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NBRC school for respiratory care
• Preferred experience
• Preferred certifications and licenses required:
• Registered Respiratory Therapist by NBRC
• Licensed by New Jersey State Board of Respiratory Care

Essential Functions

• Helps patient accomplish treatment plan and supports life by administering inhalants, and operating mechanical ventilators.
• Therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.
• Airway management, suctioning, and nebulization.
• Administers respiratory therapy treatments by performing bronchopulmonary drainage.
• Assisting with breathing exercises; monitoring physiological responses to therapy, such as vital signs, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes; and directing treatments given by aides, technicians, and assistants.

Pay and Schedule

The pay range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey is $51.00 per hour.
