PCT-Surgery Support Services-7a-7p-Weekends-Full-Time

Non-licensed healthcare provider responsible for direct and/or indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Functions as a member of the surgical team.

Responsibilities

• Patient preparation for procedures
• Patient transport
• Patient positioning
• Extremity holds during prep
• Room turnover and cleaning
• Establishing and maintaining a sterile field
• Scrubbing into case for retractor holding and/or camera holding
• Restocking supplies and inventory management
• Assist nurse in admission process
• Adhere to HIPAA guidelines
• Transport patient to receiving departments
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care
• Exercise judgment to recognize signs and symptoms requiring further evaluation by a licensed nurse
• Effectively communicate with customers and team members
• Adapt easily to change

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, or occupational diploma paired with successful completion of the Project SEARCH program or meet one of the preferences
• BLS certification completed prior to going to unit/department and maintained going forward
• Training in surgical aseptic technique and the OR environment

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the State of Tennessee
• First Responder certification
• EMT licensure
• Nursing student having completed Fundamentals of Nursing
• Medical Assistant certification
• Pre-Med student
• Military Corpsman
• Combat Life Saver or Combat Medic
• Surgical Technician
