About the role
UAB St. Vincent’s East - Trussville, AL offers a weekend day shift from 7am-7pm.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision.
- Ambulate patients as necessary, including helping them to a recliner, walk to the bathroom, or down the hall.
- Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living.
- Report findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
- Document necessary records.
- Keep patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintain medical equipment.
- Perform certain technical patient care duties as directed by the staff nurse, such as oxygen setup, Foley catheter care, pulse oximetry setup, specimen collection, and EKGs.
- Obtain and record vitals, weight, and inputs and outputs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
