Responsibilities

How you will change lives As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at US Renal Care, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team providing care and delegated activities of treatment to patients. The PCT will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN) for patients with renal failure. We still have much work ahead. • Gather patient stats before and after treatment
• Initiate treatment
• Monitor patients during treatment
• Terminate treatment
• Collect patient blood samples per physician orders
• Prepare machines for hemodialysis treatments
• Clean and disinfect machines after treatment
• Conduct machine safety checks and log results for quality control
• Ensure all protocols and regulations are followed
• Use appropriate safety measures, including personal protective equipment
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and state/federal laws and regulations (working under supervision of a Charge Nurse)
• Participate in all required staff meetings and continuing education offerings

Qualifications

What we're looking for

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Desire to work in healthcare and care for patients in need
• Previous healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA is a plus

Other Requirements

• Successful completion of USRC training program approved by the Medical Director, including demonstrated competency, within 8 weeks of hire
• Successful completion of USRC training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis within 8 weeks of hire
• CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as required by the state
• Patient Care Technician certification must be obtained through a state certification program or national commercially available certification program within 18 months of hire date and maintained in good standing thereafter
• Ability to distinguish all primary colors
• Must be comfortable with mixing acids and bicarbonate according to protocol

Pay

Pay Range: USD $18.84 - USD $27.72 /Hr.
