About the Role

The PCP/Endo Business Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing a plan to maximize net sales of BIPI and co-promoted diabetes products, aligning with direction from BIPI commercial leadership and adhering to BIPI guidelines, policies, and directives. This role involves engaging with key targeted healthcare providers, community hospitals, and may include responsibilities in teaching hospitals, federal and military hospitals, managed healthcare facilities, group purchasing organizations, integrated delivery networks, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes product knowledge and selling skills to influence targeted healthcare professionals to support BIPI-promoted diabetes products.
  • Executes brand strategies to ensure company sales and marketing messages are delivered appropriately to customers.
  • Establishes and maintains effective communication, cooperation, and coordination with co-promotion partners and BIPI employees.
  • Completes pre-call plans to meet key stakeholder needs and builds discussions around customer needs and opportunities.
  • Fosters customer network development, communication, and ensures accurate and timely follow-up discussions.
  • Uses BIPI Sales Training techniques to facilitate the customer decision-making process.
  • Coordinates engagement of healthcare providers through personal and non-personal channels, according to customer preferences.
  • Identifies top plans for customers and engages in discussions on the payer environment, co-pays, and formulary access.
  • Works with Managed Care Area Managers to generate and sustain support for products on MCO formularies.
  • Develops and influences an extended team to pull-through MCO decisions.
  • Delivers on the "continuation of care" model, including discharge protocols, treatment algorithms, and disease management.
  • Analyzes qualitative and quantitative territory information to optimize territory business plans and customer calls.
  • Monitors local market conditions for changes that impact business and develops plans to optimize resource allocation (samples, co-pay cards, speaker programs, in-office meals).
  • Adjusts implementation plans regularly (speaker management, advocate development, etc.).
  • Leverages opportunities that meet both territory and brand tactics.
  • Utilizes supporting analysis tools to plan activity, report and monitor resource utilization, and maintain account and customer records.
  • Completes all administrative responsibilities as directed by management and successfully completes all Sales Training requirements.
  • Identifies thought leaders, innovators, and advocates to support BIPI products.
  • Works with trained speakers for diabetes topics and products, providing feedback and follow-up to speakers and attendees.
  • Initiates contacts and network-building among advocates and customer groups.
  • Develops plans to cultivate speakers and thought leaders, managing programs and budgets to stay within standards.
  • Works effectively with all customer-facing roles (e.g., Account teams, Medical teams) to meet customer needs and deliver net sales objectives.
  • Demonstrates strong collaboration and communication as customers evolve and ownership of accounts transition from traditional to account-based.
  • Performs all company business in accordance with regulations (e.g., EEO, FDA, DEA, OSHA, PDMA, EPA, PhRMA) and company policies and procedures.
  • Reports violations immediately to management and demonstrates high ethical and professional standards with all business contacts.

Requirements

PCP/Endo Business Specialist

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of successful sales and/or marketing experience in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry, pharmacy, B2B, customer engagement services, or equivalent.
  • Experience in the Diabetes Therapeutic Area is preferred.
  • History of successful performance and meets expectations for key competencies required for this role.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and database applications.
  • Ability to travel (may include overnight travel).
  • Should reside in territory geography or be willing to relocate; exceptions granted by senior sales leadership.
  • Valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record.
  • Authorization and ability to drive a company-leased vehicle or authorized rental vehicle.

Executive PCP/Endo Business Specialist

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of successful sales and/or marketing experience in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry, pharmacy, B2B, customer engagement services, or equivalent.
  • Experience in the Diabetes Therapeutic Area is preferred.
  • History of successful performance and meets expectations for key competencies required for this role.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and database applications.
  • Ability to travel (may include overnight travel).
  • Should reside in territory geography or be willing to relocate; exceptions granted by senior sales leadership.
  • Valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record.
  • Authorization and ability to drive a company-leased vehicle or authorized rental vehicle.

Physical and Mental Demands

  • Daily travel within territory throughout the workday with multiple stops and visits to office buildings, hospitals, and clinics.
  • Going up and down stairs, bending, walking, and lifting above head to shelf pharmaceutical materials or goods.
  • Periodic overnight travel for training and meetings.
  • Intermittent repetitive lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Must pass state motor vehicle vision requirements to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to work with both external and internal customers, comfortable in new environments and adverse conditions.
  • Must work with diverse groups of people, interact with medical practitioners, business partners, and manage stress and conflict in a highly competitive environment.
  • Ability to learn and retain complex material, pass tests demonstrating product and disease-related knowledge, and deliver content verbally in a clear, effective, and accurate manner in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • At least 40 hours per week, requires morning and evening flexibility to meet physicians' schedules and coordinate evening speaker programs.
  • Must function in a self-directed work environment.
  • Proficient in remote engagements with key customers via video conferencing platforms.
  • Able to deliver clear and compliant sales presentations remotely using video, phone, and digital media applications.
  • Understands how to build customer relationships that facilitate live and virtual engagement opportunities.

It is essential that the employee/applicant be eligible and authorized under all U.S. Export Laws to be employed by the company and to receive any technology required for the position.

Pay

The base salary range for the PCP/Endo Business Specialist position is $115K to $181K. The base salary range for the Executive PCP/Endo Business Specialist position is $140K to $222K. The position may be eligible for a role-specific discretionary bonus, relocation, and/or other compensation elements. Actual compensation will be based on job-related factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications, and other factors permitted by law.
