PCNA Fulltime nights

Responsibilities

• Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to the RN.
• Monitor vital signs, weights, and assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Perform patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point‑of‑care testing, dressing changes, application of external monitoring devices, and removal of urinary Foley catheters.
• Assist with keeping patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Demonstrate a positive, concerned, and sensitive response in the workplace.
• Utilize strong interpersonal skills to interact with patients and staff.
• Read, write, and speak English; follow oral and written instructions.
• Perform basic clinical mathematics.
• Maintain personal growth and development through formal and informal education.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Demonstrate professional, technical, and clinical competencies safely, effectively, and efficiently.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED.

Certifications

• State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) – preferred.
• Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross required within the new‑hire period.
• Nursing students must have BLS (AHA or Red Cross) prior to hire.

Experience

• Ability to apply reading comprehension and applied mathematics skills at or above a junior‑high level.
• Nursing students who have completed at least one clinical rotation in an accredited nursing program may substitute that rotation for the required experience.
• Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W), or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered.
• Requires critical‑thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Physical Requirements

• Full‑body motion to move and lift patients; manual finger dexterity with good eye‑hand coordination; extensive standing and walking.
• Medium work – exerting 20–50 lb occasionally, 10–25 lb frequently, and up to 10 lb constantly to move objects.
• Physical demands exceed those for Light Work.
• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Schedule

Works 7:00 pm – 7:30 am with weekend rotations every other weekend and holiday rotations every other holiday.

Pay

• Minimum hourly rate: $18.25
• Maximum hourly rate: $24.95
• The displayed range reflects the anticipated range for new hires; actual compensation will consider work history, experience, skill set, and education. Shift differentials, overtime, and the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package are not included in this range.
