Quality Assurance$70k–$130k/yrFull-time

Senior Test Engineer focused on RF and manufacturing validation for high-volume production.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive end-to-end test engineering activities at vendor sites; ensure quality delivery from vendor engineering/technical teams.
  • Own test-fixture lifecycle: vendor coordination, validation, deployment, and factory performance monitoring.
  • Ensure all test systems and fixtures are built, validated, and functioning reliably in production.
  • Define and enforce test strategy, methodologies, and paradigms across programs.
  • Act as first line of defense for issue triaging, failure debugging, and first-pass failure analysis (FA).
  • Conduct and lead cross-functional (XF) meetings with engineering teams for technical issue resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical engineering aspects: power-supply validation, signal integrity, and IQC processes.
  • Drive manufacturability improvements, calibration readiness, and test-process maturity.
  • Plan and execute test coverage, test preparation, and commissioning for NPI programs.
  • Analyze marginal pass/fail trends and optimize test limits to improve yield and reduce escapes.
  • Act as technical mediator between design, manufacturing, vendors, and customers to reduce engineering cycle time.
  • Serve as Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for test-related issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Support Design of Experiments (DoE) to identify root causes and optimize test processes.
  • Ensure continuous improvement in test efficiency, robustness, and scalability.

Requirements

  • Proven experience architecting, building, and deploying scalable test systems and fixture solutions for high-volume manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing test flows: IQC, electrical validation, visual inspection, and end-of-line testing.
  • Expertise defining test strategies, coverage models, and validation frameworks for complex products.
  • Advanced failure analysis (FA), triaging, and root-cause analysis across electrical, RF, and system-level issues.
  • Experience with NPI cycles: test readiness, commissioning, and ramp-to-production optimization.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturability, calibration processes, and Gauge R&R for production reliability.
  • Expertise in yield analysis, marginal pass/fail criteria definition, and test-limit optimization.
  • Exposure to test automation and scripting (Python, LabVIEW, or equivalent frameworks).
  • Experience integrating hardware test systems with existing software frameworks.
  • System-engineering mindset with deep exposure to fixture design (mechanical + electrical integration).
  • Hands-on experience with RF test equipment: spectrum analyzers, VNAs, signal generators, power meters, and RF chambers.
  • Strong stakeholder management across vendors, manufacturing teams, and cross-functional engineering groups.
  • Program leadership with ability to drive timelines, deliverables, and accountability.
  • Must-have skills: RF Test Engineering / RF Validation / RF Calibration; Test Fixtures / Test Systems / Manufacturing Test; Failure Analysis (FA) / Debugging / Triaging; Gauge R&R / Calibration / Yield Optimization; Python / LabVIEW / Test Automation; Electrical Testing / Power Validation; Marginal Pass-Fail / Test Limits; Cross-functional / Vendor Management / Fixture Ownership.

Success Criteria

  • Test systems and fixtures deployed on time with high reliability.
  • First-pass yield and overall yield meet or exceed program targets through effective test strategy and limit optimization.
  • Reduction in failure triage time and faster root-cause identification, improving engineering turnaround time.
  • Zero or minimal production escapes due to robust test coverage and validation methodologies.
  • Smooth NPI transitions with no delays attributed to test readiness or commissioning gaps.
  • Calibration and manufacturability processes standardized and consistently followed across programs.
  • Effective cross-functional alignment leading to quicker issue resolution and reduced escalations.
  • Continuous improvements in test time, cost efficiency, and process maturity.
  • Strong ownership demonstrated as SPOC, with clear visibility and accountability for all test-related deliverables.
