YOUR MISSION
True Anomaly is seeking a skilled and motivated PCB Layout Engineer III to join our electrical engineering team. In this role, you will work closely with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to deliver robust, high-performance PCBAs for advanced spacecraft applications. You will contribute across the board design lifecycle — from schematic review through part placement, layout, design for manufacturability, and release to manufacturing — with growing ownership of increasingly complex designs. You bring solid hands-on layout experience and a drive to develop your skills in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and lay out multi-layer PCBs from 2-32 layers across varying levels of complexity and density
- Read, interpret, and understand electrical PCB schematics to inform layout decisions
- Complete layout of digital and analog circuits, including power converters and mixed-signal designs
- Generate PCB fabrication and assembly documentation including drawings, Gerbers, and BOMs
- Set up and manage PCB layer stack-ups and design rules to meet electrical, thermal, and mechanical requirements
- Perform design rule checks (DRC) and electrical rules checks (ERC) to ensure layouts meet all physical and electrical requirements
- Support design for manufacturing (DFM) reviews with manufacturing partners
- Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineering teams to ensure board layouts meet all requirements and integrate into system architecture
- Assist with component creation, including electrical parameters and mechanical information
- Assist with shared component library and lifecycle management for existing and new components
- Help improve and document PCB design and procurement processes
