About the role
This position performs routine preventive and corrective maintenance and basic adjustments on pre-conditioned air (PCA) units. It also involves troubleshooting and repair of passenger boarding bridge components, focusing on PCA units.
Responsibilities
- Conducts daily and periodic shift inspections, cleaning, and diagnostics of PCA mechanical/electrical system components based on an established scheduled preventive maintenance program.
- Aids in electrical and mechanical adjustments to PCA units.
- Maintains system operation; diagnoses equipment failures; ensures equipment is running safely and efficiently.
- Performs preventive maintenance based on an established scheduled preventive maintenance program to include, but not limited to, motors, condensation pumps, bearings, filters, dryers, hoses, connectors, drains, thermostats.
- Dismantles, repairs, and reassembles equipment or machines for stock replacement and/or to restore equipment to operational status, solder and brazing skills.
- Works in tight and/or high spaces using appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment.
- Follows and complies with company and federally established policies and procedures.
- Utilizes a computer to perform a variety of communications, training and administrative processes. Completes forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures.
- Provides direction, guidance and expertise to other personnel assigned to assist in maintenance and repair activities; conducts training and mentoring responsibilities, assigns tasks, may assist other employee groups with tasks as directed by senior personnel.
- Reads and interprets repair manuals, basic schematics and supervisor/manager’s instructions.
- Completes all applicable training courses assigned by the company.
- Assists Technicians with basic maintenance such as sweeping, cleaning and greasing, clear jams and move tubs.
- Completes all safety training as assigned by the Company.
- Complies with all the company's safety programs, policies and procedures.
- Performs additional duties/assignments that may be required by management from time to time.
Qualifications
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- Minimum 3 years of previous mechanical or electrical experience and 1+ years PLC Logic and HVAC controls experience
- Minimum 3 years of previous basic electrical and/or electronic systems work experience
- Valid EPA Section 608 Universal refrigerant handling certification
- Previous work experience in an Airport environment
- Previous experience working on conveyors and/or passenger boarding bridges
- Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in an industrial environment
- HVAC, welding/ brazing, and/or plumbing knowledge and skills
- 4+ years industrial mechanical and/or electrical background
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with PLC logic, industrial electrical controls (troubleshooting and repair), and/or Industrial HVAC certification
- Advanced computer skills
- Ability to operate a forklift and scissor lift safely according to ELS standard

Other Requirements

- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the Company’s insurance policy
