PCA - Specialty Pediatrics 3W - Full Time - Night
Facility: Dayton Children's - Main Campus | Department: Specialty Pediatrics II | Schedule: Full time, 36 hours per week
About the role
Responsible for assisting the nurse in completion of patient care activities, taking into consideration the patient’s developmental levels. Demonstrates strong communication skills, accepts delegated tasks, and has the knowledge and understanding to ask questions and report patient information as indicated. Appropriately handles patient information with confidentiality and privacy in mind. Complies with the safety management program to provide a physical environment free of hazards and reduce the risk of injury. Promotes a patient and family experience-oriented environment and acts as a change agent to meet the rapidly changing census and needs of all customers—both internal and external.
Responsibilities
- Measure and record vital signs, intake, and output
- Assist patients with activities of daily living
- Provide safe transportation and environment for patients
- Support both clinical and clerical sides of the business through cross-training
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- PCA training or PCA experience, or active enrollment in a health care-related education program (required)
- 1-2 years STNA experience in a hospital setting (preferred)
Qualifications
- CPR certification preferred at hire, but must be obtained within 2 weeks of start date
