About the role
Personal Care Aide responsible for providing client-centered care in a home setting.
Responsibilities
- Follow care plans
- Complete daily tasks via EVV or electronic timesheets
- Encourage client self-help
- Assist with personal care including bathing, grooming, ambulation, meal preparation, feeding, and oral hygiene
- Utilize mobility equipment
- Maintain a safe environment
- Respect client confidentiality and privacy
- Perform light household tasks such as laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping, and meal preparation while ensuring safety and hygiene protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma preferred
- At least 6 months of validated caregiving experience
- Must be 18 or older
- Ability to read and write
Skills & Requirements
- Ability to provide basic personal care
- Ability to follow care plans precisely
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to recognize client limitations
- Assistance limited to medication self-administration (not administering medication)
- Adherence to infection control and safety precautions
- Immediate reporting of any concerns or unusual client conditions
This role reports to the Home Care Manager and staffing manager, with accountability for delivering quality care within scope and safety protocols.
