Our client, a rapidly growing healthcare services organization in Nashville, is seeking a contract-to-hire Payroll Analyst to join their payroll team. This role is ideal for a payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing payroll processing, compliance, reporting, and continuous process improvement.
About the role
The ideal candidate will have experience with multi-state payroll, payroll tax regulations, and payroll systems, with Workday experience highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payrolls across multiple entities, including off-cycle payrolls, while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion.
- Review payroll reports, identify discrepancies, and coordinate necessary corrections and adjustments.
- Maintain payroll records and enter garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, and other payroll-related transactions.
- Support payroll tax compliance efforts, including filings, reconciliations, tax deposits, year-end processing, and W-2 preparation.
- Collaborate with payroll leadership to identify and implement process improvements and best practices.
- Create ad hoc reports and payroll analyses to support leadership and business decision-making.
- Partner with internal teams during payroll system implementations, acquisitions, and onboarding of new business entities.
- Stay current on payroll regulations, employment laws, and compliance requirements to ensure organizational compliance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
- Experience processing multi-state, multi-entity payroll environments
- Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations, filings, reconciliations, and compliance requirements
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills required
- Workday Payroll experience highly preferred
- Knowledge of FLSA, wage and hour laws, garnishments, tax levies, and payroll best practices
- CPP certification is a plus, but not required
- Positive, team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills
Pay
$27.00-$38.50/hour (Contract-to-Hire Opportunity)
