Responsibilities

  • Tax Reporting and Payments: Review and reconcile payroll tax payments and filings, including W-2s, W-2c’s, and quarterly/annual returns.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze payroll tax data, perform calculations, and provide insights to management for decision-making.
  • Process Documentation: Design, document, and review payroll tax procedures to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Problem Resolution: Research and resolve payroll tax discrepancies, notices, or compliance issues for multi-state entities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with payroll, HR, and accounting teams to ensure accurate employee data and tax reporting.
  • Special Projects: Assist the Payroll Tax Manager with strategic initiatives, audits, and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Taxation, Economics, or related field.
  • Years of Experience: 0-2 years.

Skills

  • Analytical Skills: Strong numerical and analytical abilities to calculate taxes, deductions, and benefits accurately.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous in reviewing payroll data and ensuring compliance with tax laws.
  • Communication: Ability to explain complex tax matters to non-tax stakeholders and collaborate across departments.
  • Problem-Solving: Capable of resolving discrepancies and handling audits effectively.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and AI software tools (Microsoft Copilot preferred, not required).

Schedule

This is an onsite, hybrid position located in The Woodlands, TX.
