About the role

You will be responsible for administration and support of the US payroll system architecture and oversee internally developed or 3rd party payroll software system administration for the US firm.

Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll interface design, development and implementation, new company set up, financial data changes, wage types, tables and locations.
  • Adhere to payroll systems architecture in design decisions to ensure the integrity of the systems processing accuracy.
  • Coverage with 3rd party payroll company and internal functional owners to gather requirements, design, test plans, sign off, change management and deployment.
  • Monitor inbound interface activity, payroll system uploads (garnishments), preliminary reporting, overpayments per checklist.
  • Coordinate with functional owners and the payroll service center to resolve all open items prior to finalizing the payroll.
  • Oversees the finalization of On Cycle payrolls, provides guidance and troubleshooting assistance with the running of Off Cycle payrolls and oversees the running of multi-jurisdiction payroll process and procedures.
  • Oversees ADP interfaces to include Wage Payments, Tax Services, Garnishment Services and General Ledger.
  • Co-develops end user procedures, guidelines, and documentation in support of software applications.
  • Provide guidance on Time System Management: timekeeping rules and policies, ensuring accurate configuration and proper system functionality.
  • Run 3rd party payroll providers programs to reallocate wage and tax on a quarterly basis for EY US employees working in a state or locality outside of their normal work location.
  • Oversee continued enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy of the program and reduce costs to the firm.
  • Serve as the project manager, and collaborate with various internal teams on system service packs, releases, and upgrades.
  • Oversee configuration, manage, and process payroll for the multi-jurisdiction process to adhere to state and local legislation.
  • Collaborate with payroll team to resolve errors, ensure consistencies and 3rd party vendor relations.

Requirements

Strong understanding of payroll applications (e.g., ADP GlobalView, ServiceNow, other common payroll applications) for reporting capabilities
Strong project management and analytical skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong attention to detail and customer service skills
Demonstrated ability to lead individuals towards a common goal
Ability to summarize information and present it at a high level for US Payroll leadership

Attributes for Success

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 10 plus years of experience
  • Experience in a professional services firm desired
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks; strong organizational skills
  • Payroll certifications

Pay & Benefits

The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $75,600 to $141,300.
The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $90,700 to $160,600.
Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
