Payroll Specialist

About the role

A dynamic and passionate Payroll Specialist is needed for a growing company in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will manage the full cycle of payroll processes for union and non-union employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full cycle of payroll processes for union and non-union employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare, verify, and process timesheets and certified payroll, including accurate calculations of hours worked, deductions, and benefits.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
• Cook with human resources and accounting departments to ensure seamless integration of payroll data.
• Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records and prepare reports for review by management.
• Assist with payroll-related audits and provide recommendations for process improvements.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3+ years of experience in payroll administration, preferably in the construction industry.
• Experience with union payroll, certified payroll, and timesheets is a must.
• Proficiency in payroll software, as well as strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels within the organization.
• Strong understanding of payroll and taxation principles, laws, and regulations.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
